Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

Campaign on Type 2 Diabetes Prevention

Overview
Native Reach™ partnered with the CDC to create a culturally relevant multimedia campaign aimed at preventing type 2 diabetes in Indian Country. The campaign featured personal narratives and celebrated the role of lifestyle coaches within the National DPP to inform and empower Indigenous individuals to prioritize preventive health behaviors.
The Approach
Native Reach™ developed a three pronged strategy: 1. Elevate awareness of prediabetes and the National DPP across Indigenous audiences. 2. Showcase success stories from Indigenous individuals who achieved improved health through their participation in the DPP. 3. Highlight lifestyle coaches’ leadership, showcasing how they support and guide community members on their health journeys. The final campaign effectively communicated preventive health messaging in a manner that resonated with Indigenous audiences. Through compelling storytelling and culturally informed production, the project raised awareness of the National DPP, inspired behavior change, and reinforced the importance of community centered health support systems.
